The Islamophobia, racism, and anti-migrant violence being perpetuated by far-right mobs across the UK is horrific.
It is shameful that such racial violence against people of colour still persists in 2024. We send our solidarity to Muslim communities and people of colour affected by these racist attacks.
These protests are not acts of patriotism, they are deeply rooted in racism and should be recognised as such by both the government and the British media.
The Government must take immediate and decisive action to protect Muslim, Brown, and Black communities by enforcing a zero-tolerance policy on those responsible for these attacks. We all deserve to feel safe and protected in our country and should not be scared to leave our homes.
