We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Jason Arday. This is a profound loss and our thoughts are with his family, friends, students and loved ones.
We signed a letter showing support for Jason, and we are devastated to see that the effects of the intense public and media scrutiny took its toll. This should be a lesson to everyone who participated in his take down. Cambridge University and the media should be held accountable.
His legacy as the youngest Black professor in Cambridge University’s history and his commitment to diversity and representation in the education system should be what he is remembered for.
