Sixty years ago, on 8 December 1965, the first Race Relations Act declared that no one should be treated less favourably because of the colour of their skin, or the country of their birth.
While BEO welcomes this overarching commitment, it is important that the recruitment of new teachers also takes into account the need to recruit and retain more Black teachers into the profession.
