Our response to the Met Police undercover investigation carried out by Panorama

BY BEO | 03/10/2025

We’re appalled and disgusted by the racist and violently misogynistic language and culture being used by Met Police as discovered by Panorama undercover reporters. The blatant Islamophobia, homophobia, racism, and misogyny in the Met Police is not new – has been evidenced time and time again and reinforces what Black communities in the UK have been saying for decades: policing is institutionally racist and failing to protect those it serves.

Met Police officers described people of colour as ‘scum’, made vile comments about sexual abuse and rape, and expressed extremely Islamophobic and racist views. For far too long, Black people have endured racial profiling, disproportionate use of force, and systemic discrimination at the hands of the police. These latest revelations confirm that this is not about a few “rogue officers” but about a culture and system that allows racism and misogyny to thrive.

The evidence is clear; the culture has to change with a full upheaval of the existing system.
